Bandaragama Police have arrested a group of more than 10 youths for allegedly disturbing the public attending Vesak celebrations by riding motorcycles modified to produce excessive noise.
According to police, the relevant motorcycles ridden by the suspects were also taken into custody.
Police said that investigations revealed that most of the motorcycles taken into police custody had been unlawfully modified by cutting or modifying their silencers to produce loud noises and by adding various parts, in violation of motor traffic laws.
