Two arrested over theft of gold jewelry in Negombo

Two individuals were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the theft of gold jewelry reported within the Negombo Police Division.
The suspects, aged 42 and 44, identified as residents of the Wellampitiya and Kolonnawa areas, were arrested yesterday (04) by officers attached to the Negombo Police Station.
During the investigation of the suspects, it was revealed that they were also allegedly involved in another theft of gold jewelry reported within the Puttalam Police Division.
During further interrogations, police recovered 12 stolen gold rings and also located the motorcycle allegedly used by the suspects to commit the theft in Negombo.
Negombo Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
