
Specialist Dr. M.K. Sampath Indika Kumar assumed duties as the new Deputy Director General of the Colombo National Hospital today (15).
He, along with eight other officials appointed to Deputy Director General positions, received their letters of appointment on June 11 from Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
The Ministry of Health stated that, after a prolonged period, permanent appointments have been made to several key administrative posts, including the Deputy Director General position at the National Hospital.
Dr. Indika Kumar is a senior medical administrator and specialist in medical administration, with extensive experience in the country’s healthcare system.
He has previously served in senior administrative roles at several major institutions, including the Badulla Teaching Hospital, Ratnapura Teaching Hospital, Polonnaruwa District General Hospital, the National Nephrology Hospital in Polonnaruwa, the Provincial Director of Health Services for the North Western Province and the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama, according to the Health Ministry.
