Gold price falls in Sri Lanka after global market drop

Following a significant drop in gold prices in the global market, the price of gold in the local market has decreased by around Rs. 9,000.

 

Accordingly, the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign, which was Rs. 391,000 as of yesterday (18), has decreased to Rs. 382,000 today (19).

 

Meanwhile, the price of a 22-carat gold sovereign has dropped from Rs. 359,700 yesterday to Rs. 351,500 today.

 

The price of an ounce of gold in the global market was recorded at USD 4,138 today.
