
The National Council for Road Safety has announced that the mandatory seat belt law will be strictly enforced effective from today (20).
Accordingly, while wearing a seat belt while driving is mandatory, all vehicle passengers traveling on expressways are also required to wear seat belts.
The government has taken steps to make it compulsory for passengers seated in both the front and rear seats of vehicles to wear seat belts.
A grace period had been granted for the implementation of the law, which ended yesterday (19). Therefore, the National Council for Road Safety stated that strict enforcement of the regulation will commence from today.
Drivers and front-seat passengers traveling on ordinary roads are required to wear seat belts, while drivers and all passengers traveling in vehicles using expressways must wear seat belts at all times.
