The West Indies Women’s team won the toss and elected to field first against Sri Lanka Women in the 17th Match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Bristol.
West Indies defeated Scotland by 7 wickets in their last encounter while the Lankans stunned reigning World Champions New Zealand by 5 wickets in their last outing.
At the toss, Windies skipper Hayley Matthews confirmed the team has made one change from the lineup against Scotland with spin-bowling allrounder Ashmini Munisar replacing Qiana Joseph.
She said her team did not bat well enough in the last series against Sri Lanka but conditions in Bristol are different and probably favours the West Indies a little bit more.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have also made one change with Imesha Dulani returning to the lineup.
Captain Chamari Athapaththu said Sri Lanka would've bowled had they won the toss but will take confidence from the last T20 series win over West Indies.
