Tense situation during ‘Jana Aragala’ protest in Fort
A tense situation has been reported during a protest march organized by the “People’s Struggle Movement” (Jana Aragala Vyaparaya) in front of the Colombo Fort Railway Station this evening (25).
Ada Derana reporter said the tense situation arose as protestors clashed with police officers who attempted to prevent them from marching towards the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
The protest march was organised by the “People’s Struggle Movement” against the rising cost of living and demanding that the government reduce the prices of fuel, electricity tariffs and commodity prices.
