The Leader of the Sarvajana Balaya, Member of Parliament Dilith Jayaweera has accused the present government of misleading entrepreneurs and the groups that supported its rise to power.

Speaking at an event in Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, MP Jayaweera said many voters had placed great confidence in the government after it promised sweeping change.

He alleged that despite assurances to improve livelihoods and create new economic opportunities, entrepreneurs continue to face difficulties. MP Jayaweera noted that some local authorities had taken action against businesses that were operating successfully, describing such actions as unfair.

Referring to the investigation into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, Sarvajana Balaya leader Jayaweera said he was disappointed by the government's response to findings from a U.S. investigation. He noted that the United States had conducted its own probe after five of its citizens were killed in the attacks and had initiated legal proceedings based on its findings.

MP Jayaweera criticized the government's handling of the matter, alleging that it had sought to reinterpret the findings instead of addressing the issues raised. He also questioned the treatment of a senior military officer in connection with the investigation.
