Woman arrested in Mattakkuliya with narcotic pills worth Rs. 200,000

A woman has been arrested in Mattakkuliya by the Colombo Crimes Division with a stock of narcotic pills valued at approximately Rs. 200,000.

 

The 35-year-old suspect, a resident of Summitpura, was found in possession of 1,000 pills, police said.

 

Officers from Unit 5 of the Colombo Crimes Division arrested the woman while conducting a raid and seized the pills during a search.

 

Police stated that she was taken into custody for allegedly possessing narcotic pills without a valid prescription issued by a registered medical practitioner.

 

The suspect is scheduled to be produced before court today (04), while the Colombo Crimes Division is conducting further investigations into the incident.
