A tense situation has been reported at the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo, as police officers arrived with a court order at the location of the Satyagraha campaign launched by a group of Buddhist monks, demanding the release of Ven. Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero.

Ada Derana reporter said the police team later left the location after reading out the court order instructing the group of protesters to refrain from continuing to occupy the location.

He said the tense situation arose after the police officers announced that they had obtained a court order directing them to remove the group, including Buddhist monks, staging a Satyagraha campaign at the Viharamahadevi Park.
