The Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court today (11) ordered the release on bail of Ven. Ampitiye Sumanarathana Thero, who was arrested by the Batticaloa Police.
Accordingly, he was ordered to be released on two personal bail bonds of Rs. 200,000 each.
He was arrested on September 7 in connection with an incident in which he allegedly obstructed the duties of officers at the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau office in Batticaloa.
