The Department of Meteorology has issued an “Amber” advisory for strong winds and rough seas in the sea areas extending from Matara to Pottuvil.

 

According to the Department of Meteorology, the sea areas off the coasts extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times, with strong gusty winds of up to 50–60 kmph.

 

The naval and fishing communities engaged in fishing and naval activities in the aforementioned sea areas are advised to remain vigilant.
