A total of 859 individuals have been arrested yesterday (20) during raids and inspections conducted under the “A Nation United” (Ratama Ekata) national programme.
The arrests were made during 858 raids conducted across the island, police said.
According to police, 432 grams of heroin, 499 grams of crystal methamphetamine(‘Ice’), 110 grams of cocaine and 665 grams of cannabis were seized during the operations.
Meanwhile, 26,227 individuals were subjected to inspections yesterday (20) as part of crime and drug prevention operations.
Of those, 432 individuals were arrested on suspicion, while 19 were identified as being linked to criminal activities.
Police also arrested 224 individuals with day warrants and 121 individuals with open warrants.
Additionally, 219 individuals were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, while 75 were taken into custody for reckless driving.
A further 3,733 individuals were arrested in connection with other traffic violations.
