Six injured after two buses collide on Buttala–Monaragala Road

Six individuals have been injured following a collision between two buses in the Mahagodaya area along the Buttala–Monaragala main road, police stated.


The accident involved a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus travelling from Wellawaya to Monaragala and a private passenger bus travelling from Matara to Ampara.


According to police, the SLTB bus had stopped in the Mahagodaya area to allow passengers to alight when the private bus collided with its rear.


The injured individuals have reportedly been admitted to hospital for treatment.


Officers of the Buttala Police Station have commenced investigations into the accident.
