The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) has issued a Level 3 (Red) landslide warning for several areas in the Galle, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Landslide warning will be in effect from 1:00 p.m. today (24) to 1:00 p.m. (25), the NBRI announced.
Accordingly, level 3 warning will be in effect for residents of the Neluwa, Niyagama, Thawalama and Nagoda Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSDs) and surrounding areas of the Galle District, Pasbage Korale Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas in the Kandy District and the Kotmale West, Norwood, Kotmale East and Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions of the Nuwara Eliya District.
Authorities are urging residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and closely follow safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
