The National Organiser of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, who is currently in remand custody, has been brought before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court again today (30).
MP Rajapaksa was brought to court in connection with ongoing legal proceedings.
The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court had previously ordered that MP Rajapaksa be further remanded until today, with the court scheduled to deliver its decision on his bail application today.
However, the Magistrate directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to clarify several matters relating to the bail application.
The CID was instructed to provide the court with the relevant information and clarifications on the matters raised by the Magistrate. The court is expected to consider the information before making a determination on the bail application.
The Magistrate had stated that the court would deliver its order on the bail application after receiving the required information from the CID.
