A bag containing two live hand grenades and a quantity of ammunition has been discovered at a garbage collection site near the Modarawatta Cemetery in Angulana, police stated.

The suspicious bag was spotted by a team of officers from the Angulana Police Station while they were on night patrol. Upon inspecting the bag, police found the grenades and ammunition inside.

In addition to the two live hand grenades, officers recovered 25 rounds of small-calibre ammunition and a round of ammunition used for an AK-47 firearm.
