President Mahinda Rajapaksa has made an inquiry regarding the attendance of government MPs during the budget debate sessions currently taking place in Parliament.
Parliament sources state that the inquiry had been made following the President receiving information of the absence of several Parliamentarians (government and opposition) while debates on the proposed budget were still ongoing.
The President had directed his attention to the matter especially due to government MPs not attending sessions even though it had been announced prior to the budget debate that it is compulsory for them to be present, sources revealed.
Even though the opposition is weak, the government party should never lower its efficiency, the President had emphasized.
