VIDEO: TV Derana wins at Raigam Tele’es

TV Derana was the winner of numerous awards at the 9th Raigam Tele’es held yesterday (May 17) at Waters Edge.

A total of 57 awards under five segments - excellence in Teledrama, Television media, media excellence, Special Merit Awards, Popular Awards and Best TV Channel were awarded this year.

A large number of artistes, media personnel and technicians attended the pageant.

TV Derana’s “Wada Pitiya” won the award for best political debate programme while the award for best television educational programme was given to the director of ‘Pateebha,’ Ranjeevani Baddewithana.

She was also the recipient of the jury merit award for the ‘Sandun Aratu’ programme produced for Women’s Day.

Kanchana Mendis was the Best Actress winner while Sriyantha Mendis took home the award for Best Actor. Saranga Disasekara and Asha Edirisinghe won the awards for Most Popular Actor and Actress of the Year respectively.
