SA vs WI 1st T20 Game Result: Kallis and McLaren Take South Africa to Victory Against West Indies

South Africahas claimed the first victory of their West Indiestour by imposing a 13run defeat on the hosts in the first of the two T20 matches. They had scored 137 for 7, and in reply, Windies could gather only a total of123.

Though South Africa had a unimpressive start with the dismissal of Loots Bosman, Jacques Kallis took the onus of building up a decent total for the team. He scored 53 out of 43 balls, including three sixes. However,West Indies could not find their batting form every time falling behind the required run rate. Roelof van der Merwe took off the bowling attack for the Proteas but Chris Gayle looked defiant opting for some power shots. However, his dismissal affected the team badly with the later batsmen struggling to keep the scoreboard moving. Bravo, Ramnaresh Sarwan, and Pollard tried to rescue the hosts but their untimely return made things worse for the Windies. Ryan McLaren claimed five wickets of the hosts by just giving away 19 runs.

West Indies seem to be quite disappointed with the outcome of the game while hoping for a better effort in the next encounter. South Africa too would be aiming for a stronger performance with the confidence gained from the first game.
