Sanath Jayasuriya, now reinstated in the National Cricket team shared his disappointment at being left out of the 2011 Sri Lankan World Cup squad while stating in an exclusive interview with Ada Derana that he had not considered a future in cricket administration yet.
Jayasuriya, who is currently a Parliament MP also stated that he did not believe that the decision to omit him from the World Cup squad was politically motivated, stating that although he was disappointed not to have been chosen he believed that the selection committee picked what they thought was the best 15.
Speaking ahead of his participation in the England tour, Jayasuriya insisted that his decision to play one more ODI and a T20 match for the Lankans had not been because he desired a final swan song or an honourary sending-off before hanging his boots.
