Two more test positive for coronavirus as tally hits 1,806

COVID-19 infections confirmed in Sri Lanka went up to 1,806 this evening (06), as two more persons tested positive for the virus.

 

These new patients have been identified as two navy men at the quarantine centre in Welisara, the Department of Government Information said.

 

Accordingly, a total of 5 positive cases were confirmed so far within the day.

 

Earlier today, the country’s recoveries tally escalated to 891 as a total of 33 coronavirus patients, who had recovered from the disease completely, were discharged from the IDH (12), Welikanda Base Hospital (04), Colombo East Base Hospital (01), Homagama Base Hospital (07) and Minuwangoda Base Hospital (09).

 

Accordingly, 904 patients infected with Covid-19 are currently under medical care at hospitals, says the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry.

 

In the meantime, 11 patients have succumbed to the virus so far.
