CWC’s Radhakrishnan to lead UPF?

Ceylon Workers’ Congrass (CWC) Parliamentarian V. Radhakrishnan has been invited by the Upcountry People’s Front (UPF) to lead that party, sources said. When Adaderana contacted Mr. Radhakrishnan, he confirmed that he had received such an invitation but a final decision has not been taken as yet.


 

Nuwara Eliya District Parliamentarian Mr. Radhakrisnan was returned as a United Peoples Freedom Alliance member from the CWC at the last general elections. He was a one time Provincial Council Minister.

 

The UPF is presently led by former leader and Minister P. Chandrasekeran’s widow Shanthi Chandrasekaran.

 

 

Ms. Shanthi Chandrasekeran has said that in the event Mr. Radhakrishnan accepts the invitation and becomes the UPF leader, she would be the General Secretary.
