Leader of 'Sarvajana Balaya' and Member of Parliament Dilith Jayaweera stated that public confidence in the current government has completely eroded.
He made these remarks while attending the inauguration of the Uva Paranagama Sarvajana Sabha.
The establishment of the Uva Paranagama Sarvajana Sabha and the presentation of appointment letters to constituency organizers took place this morning (27) under the patronage of Sarvajana Balaya leader MP Dilith Jayaweera.
Addressing the gathering, MP Jayaweera claimed that a significant political vacuum had emerged, which he attributed to the government's performance.
He alleged that the government had come to power promising to transform the country after criticizing the previous 76 years of governance, but had failed to meet the expectations of the people.
He further criticized the President's recent address in Parliament, alleging that it did not adequately address the concerns of farmers or the rising cost of consumer goods.
He accused the President of instead engaging in political theatrics and making remarks that, in his view, alienated many citizens.
Referring to the President's comments on "civilized politics," MP Jayaweera questioned the credibility of those remarks and concluded by asserting that the greatest loss experienced by the people under the current administration has been their trust in the government.
