The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) says adverse weather conditions have affected 104 Divisional Secretariat (DS) divisions across 15 districts.
According to the DMC, a total of 3,495 people belonging to 943 families have been affected by the adverse weather between September 19 and 6.00 a.m. today (27).
The DMC further reported that three deaths, five injuries and one missing person have been recorded during this period.
Meanwhile, two houses have been completely damaged and 448 houses have been partially damaged due to the adverse weather conditions.
The DMC said that 124 people belonging to 36 families are currently residing at five safety centers.
The highest number of people affected by the heavy rainfall has been reported from Kandy District, with 782 people affected.
Ratnapura recorded 688 affected people, followed by Gampaha with 473, Matara with 383, Puttalam with 310 and Kegalle with 224, according to the DMC report.
