
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has been directed to refrain from paying all bonuses and allowances to its employees for the year 2023.
Accordingly, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has instructed the CEB to refrain from paying any bonuses and allowances, while also instructing that the 25% salary increment paid every three years since 2015, be discontinued for this year as well.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the Minister noted that the move was a bid to further reduce the cost of operations and administration.
