The highest temperature recorded across Sri Lanka today (21) was 37.2°C, according to the Department of Meteorology.
The Department said the maximum temperature was reported from the Polonnaruwa weather station.
Mullaitivu recorded the second-highest temperature, with temperatures reaching 35.8°C earlier today.
