President appoints new Chief Secretary for Sabaragamuwa Province

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed J. M. U. K. Jayasekera as the Chief Secretary of the Sabaragamuwa Province.

 

The letter of appointment was handed over to him this afternoon (23) at the Presidential Secretariat by Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).

 

Jayasekera, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, was serving as Secretary to the Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs, Tourism, Transport, Cultural Affairs and Small Industries of the Uva Provincial Council at the time of his appointment.

 

He has previously served as Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock Production and Inland Fisheries of the Uva Province, Deputy Chief Secretary of the Uva Province, Secretary to the Uva Provincial Council, Director of the National Centre for Leadership Development in Embilipitiya, and Commissioner as well as Acting Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic.

 

Jayasekera has also served as Divisional Secretary of the Monaragala, Thanamalwila and Siyambalanduwa Divisional Secretariats, the PMD said.
