Cricketers made to give priority to representing the country

The Sports Ministry announced that Cricketers will have to give priority to representing their country in International matches over playing for any other team making it compulsory for them to play for the team when called up.

 

A special circular regarding the implementation of this regulation is being prepared by the Sports Ministry and is due to be presented to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.

 

The Ministry further added in its statement that the players who comprise the squad for the England tour will have to come to Sri Lanka to attend training sessions despite being involved in the Indian Premier League.
