The second interim report of the Special Investigation Committee of three members to look into the bombing incident which occurred around the country on Easter Sunday is slated to be submitted to the Attorney General today (08).
The President’s Media Division stated that the interim report was received by the President as of now.
The committee, spearheaded by the Supreme Court Judge Vijith Malalgoda, will comprise of the former Inspector General of Police N. K. Ilangakoon and former Ministry Secretary Padmasiri Jayamanne.
The Special Investigation Committee will investigate the causes and background of yesterday’s catastrophic events.
The Committee will study other reasons that have paved the way for these incidents as well.
The first interim report of the committee was submitted to the President on May 1st.
During a meeting held with the senior security officers on April 30th, President Sirisena said the contents of the committee’s report of will be made public.
