
Three suspects have been arrested by Bogaswewa Police for allegedly carrying out illegal excavations in search of archeological artifacts within the Semamadhu Reserve area.
According to police, the arrests were made during a raid conducted yesterday (22) following a tip-off received by a team of officers attached to the Bogaswewa Police Station.
The suspects have been arrested with equipment used in excavations, police said.
The arrested individuals are residents of the Nachchaduwa and Poonawa areas and are aged 23, 38, and 74 years, according to police.
Further investigations are being carried out by Bogaswewa Police.
